This unique St James City home has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs and a one bedroom one bath apartment downstairs for those friends who heard you're taking a trip to FL and decided to tag along! Splash the boat and be on Pine Island Sound in minutes! This great 3/3 canal front home is located in St James City, on the southern tip of Pine Island. St. James City is a fun little town with several restaurants and bars with live music and entertainment. There is always something fun going on. Not to mention the AMAZING access you have from the canal. You can be in the gulf in mere minutes. Every room in this home opens up to a deck. A big screened back porch looks out over the canal and a mango tree. The cross breezes are amazing! The main living floor of this home offers 2 bedrooms and two bath's, each with a queen bed. On the ground floor of the home is another bed and bath with a small kitchenette. There is plenty of room for entertaining in this home.
Affordable, great for families with older kids.  We hadn't ever stayed in this part of Florida before, but we liked the fact this was close to Sanibel Island.  Being at the southern tip of Pine Island, it's a little off the beaten path, which may be perfect for some, but was a little too far out of the way for our tastes.  The house is divided into 2 separate units, each with their own entrances.  So if you have small kids, you probably won't feel comfortable having them stay in the lower unit (the smaller one).  The units were clean, but dated.  The refrigerator in the upper unit was modern, but all other appliances appeared to be at least 20 years old.  Everything did work, so no complaints.  All in all, a good value for the money, as long as you're willing to drive a bit longer to get to other places (there's only one way off Pine Island, and it takes about 20 minutes to get there), and you don't care too much about having a place that's been recently updated, this will work just fine. ~M. A Little Slice of Heaven.  It was like stepping back in time about 30 years when Florida was a lesser traveled destination for visitors. No traffic jams, no hustle, no nonsense, just a place where no one cares who you are or where you come from & you're welcomed like family. There are no high rise hotels & no tourist traps because there are no beaches. Just friendly folk that love to relax, do a little fishing, kick back & enjoy life. There's a handful of quaint mom & pop places to have a nice meal & make new friends.
If you have a boat there's miles of some of the most spectacular beaches in the world explore with in a short jaunt that otherwise would take well over an hour to get to. There are water taxi's to some island fun spots, a little pricey if you go on a daily basis but worth the adventure.
The home we rented came complete with everything we need to make our stay comfortable. The decor is a little man-townish from an island lovers perspective but nonetheless a perfect place to get away and enjoy the Florida once gone by.
By the way we can't say enough about the great folks at Pine Island Realty especially their rental agent Scarlet Player and Ron Acosta one of the many realtors on staff. We'll be returning to Pine Island next winter for sure, hopefully Ron will find us our own home & Scarlet can rent you this one and the cycle continues....... ~B. Bernard
